Hey, I am looking at buying a 84 230e. The interior and exterior are in great shape and it seems to be a decent car for the motor. About two weeks ago the car started to stop all of a sudden. He, the owner would wait a bit and the car would start up and drive again. Sometimes it would go 15 minutes and other times only 5 minutes. It will run fine sometimes as well. The owner has only had the car for a few months so he doesn't have much of a history of what has been done. Any ideas of what could be wrong. He says it sounds like it is running out of gas and not as if someone turned the engine off with the key.

sure sounds like a bad fuel pump.
might wanna take some pressure readings.
also very common for the fuel pump relay to
crack its solder joints. need to replace if so or
resolder the cracks.
