Tool to clamp fuel hose?

Hey everyone. When removing a fuel pump on a 92 300E what tool should I use to clamp the suction and delivery hoses? I don't want to damage the hose. Thanks!

If the hoses are old and dry, nothing works without internal damage...
.but , if in good shape , I made a tool from some pointed vice grips...another trick is to use one of those nut-crackers that hindge..you put some fuel hose over the two handles and then wire tie the end closed once you clinch the hose...crude,but slick and easy ..

I like that..think I will make one , but round out the clamping surfaces a little .

Another easy one is a pair of hemostats with a short lenghts of vac hose covers for the fingers..nice and easy to make and use and the vac hose covers keep the fingers from injuring the lines. Medium size set is about right for most hoses..

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I will try to pick up some fuel lines clamps locally, if that doesn't work, I will share my tool making experience.

Creatively Simple...Simply Creative! Excellent make-a-tool idea!
