Should I Change Hydraulic Suspension Fluid in my 1999 E320 4M Wagon?

I have read that SLS fluid/filter change is advisable for W123, W124 wagons, but it is necessary on my 1999 E320 wagon? Have any of you with 210s performed this procedure? What were the results? Thanks!

Your local MB dealer or owner manual/maintenance book should have that info in it. I see you have had many benz's and am surprised that you didn't find that in the manuals in the back section giving the different service intervals. Look closely and I bet you find the fluid replacement schedule for all of your fluids. Let me know if it isn't there, I always like to learn new things..

There is no schedule to replace this expensive fluid. MB does not have schedule to replace many of the fluids.

This is a special synthetic fluid made by Fuchs. The part number is on the filler cap. You will find this is the most expensive fluid MB sells.

Some of us are changing this fluid. Some simply suck out what is in the reservoir and fill with new. Others will run the engine and pump out the old fluid while filling with new one until the fluid comes out clean.

The W124 and earlier SLS uses a mineral fluid that is expensive but much cheaper than this synthetic one on the W210 and newer.
