User-friendly database
Hello,
As anyone who has ever looked at WIS will agree, WIS is no doubt the largest and most difficult (MB) database to navigate, particularly if you're in a hurry. A good WIS user's guide, if such a guide existed, ought to be a run-away best seller in the MB service community. Does anyone know of such a guide? I've only heard rumors, along with Big Foot and UFOs. |
Click On Help
WIS already has one built into it just goto the area you have a question about and click on Help inbetween Menu and Privous Screen. :D
Hope This Helps! |
to Wscheffer's post - Beyond explaining some technicalities which soon become obvious on their own anyway, like the fact that double-clicking isn't used, WIS's own help section doesn't offer much help, IMO, for the task of finding information for a specific subject matter. For example, a common problem is a CEL accompanied by code P0400, let's say on a 96 E320. If you didn't know where to look, beyond say a group number, how would you determine where to look to find the logic chain for that CEL/code? One just has to keep reading until he stumbles over it. Not particularly efficient, if you find it at all. But everyone tells me that WIS just takes time to learn (where to look for different topics). Thought there might be a more systematic approach to becoming a 'librarian' of WIS.
