help out a car n00b please!
could you tell me what year and model car this is?
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...BYDREAMCAR.jpg ive heard that its a mercedes 190e and also heard that its a mercedes w201, so could someone help because id like to find one of these in the area and do the same stuff to it as in the picture. also, could you state any other noticeable upgrades besides the s600 grill, window tint, and rims. thanks |
That is a VERY nice looking 190E (W201 chassis).
Looking at the body trim I would say that it is at least a 1990 OR later model. The headlights are USA versions from a 1984-86 model though. |
I notice early 190 headlights, late 190 body cladding, Sportline option (suspension, steering upgrades), aftermarket wheels, hood badge removed, grill insert painted black, body kit (front spoiler, side skirts, rear apron, rear spoiler), clear corner lights, lowered springs for the stance.
Very well done, very expensive to put all together. Excellent job though. |
The bodykit is the standard 16v.
|
Yeah that looks like the 16V body kit unless the sportline kit looks similar because I see a sportline badge in that pic. The spoiler looks aftermarket.
The wheels are not aftermarket they are C-Class rims. They were available as an option on the C230 K coupe. The car looks like its right hand drive, Europeans like to put US spec lights on their cars :freak:, either that or this picture was mirrored ;) |
Anyone notice the windshield wiper being on the passenger side? That would mean the car is from around 1984, one of the earliest ones build.
Later on they moved the windshield wiper to the driver side. So i say this car is a 1984 190E. |

Further more, it also has the clear fender blinkers above the Sportline badging, all UK Mercedes were required by law to have those. It looks really nice. |
