One of these days I'm going to fix the cylinder head oil leak on our 89 300TE (165,xxx). Have only had valve seals done once at 65K, so not sure I want to simply replace the head gasket without having the head freshened.
Every now and then I see a decent deal on a used M103 head, this would allow me to R/R the head gasket in one weekend without waiting for machine shop on current head as the replacement head would be ready to go. To the point: are all 3.0L M103 heads interchangeable? I've seen contradictions on this, between the "heart shaped" combustion chamber and the "open chamber" combustion chamber. TIA for your help!
