1999 mercedes c 230 supercharger
I recently bought his car with a rebuilt super charger installed. On a longer trip the service engine light came on with another dash light. The battery light also came on and the belt went. I was told when the S/C was installed to change the oil after 500 miles. After talking to different people at Mercedes, they said it wasn't necessary. Now the pulley wouldn't spin which probably caused the belt to tear. Is a new S/C going to fix this problem and if so what kind of oil do you use after the break in period?

Supercharger oil never needs to be changed. The oil they use (EATON) is very $$$ about $10 an ounce. IF I owned a supercharged MB I would check that oil (level) every 30K miles.
The clutches on the early engines(1998-00) are the weak point..
