93 300E 3.2 Aux fan on High all the time
As of Monday the aux cooling fan has been on HIGH 90% of the time. Granted its been 98+ all week but when I checked the senders and connections I found atop the thermostat housing that the rear Blue sender (2 wires) had no insulation on either wire and most likely the conducters are in contact-a very recent condition,as I do not recall it when I did oil change last Wed eve.
I will strio back the sheath and rewrap them until I get a Saturday free and then I can spend the day installing the new engine harness that I picked up figuring this was gonna happen after 162K and a hot engine bay. Does the MB replacement engine harness contain the Temp Sender portion or not? If not I assume it can be redone with Shrink Tubing after opening the connector and removing the conductors to install the strink tubing...or is the "liquid insulation/tool dip" the way to go? Have I fried the AC Relay (KLIMA?) in the process and do I need a new sender? Sorry for all the Q's at once. |
The engine harness does have the wiring to that sensor.
That sensor has nothing to do with the Klima relay, reports directly to the a/c pushbutton controller. You would need to check the resistance of the sensor with an OHM meter. |
