Removing the storage box

How do I remove the storage box which is located underneath the radio and above the ash tray?

Or you can remove the radio and operate that tab from above.

It is easier to remove the radio if you have the radio removal keys, but if not then the job which was well described in the photos above should not take more than 10 minutes...I don't think he showed removal of the trim ring around the shifter but you need to remove that first to get the wood colored shifter cover plate out.

The footwell sometimes gets knee deep in coffee cups and sandwich wrappers
