Dumped the Volvo and Back to the BENZ!!!!

Well, after finding out that my C70 needed a motor (under warranty thank god!) i ditched the bit* and made the switch back to a Benz!!!!

So happy i'm back. I missed the ride, quality, finish, and overall EVERYTHING mercedes. I just love my new baby!

Here she is:

2002 E320 4MATIC
Desert Sand Metallic/ Java Leather
E2 Package, ONLY 46,000 miles!!!!!
~Paid $18,000/ Private Party~

P.S. I never actually was without a Benz, look at my signature~~~ But its great to have one as a daily driver again!

I had an unfortunate experience with the Volvo C70, had a new 2001 coupe that was a total lemon. I had such high hopes but after a year had to have it bought back by Volvo as a branded Lemon car.

Beautiful comortable seats, quick with the turbo, but OH the torque steer.....

Volvos used to be very sturdy and great cars. I had a 1991 740 and really loved it.

But Mercedes cars are great

Volvo

Yeah, thats exactly what i had! A 2001 Volvo C70 HPT with 68,000 miles on it. The oil pump shattered inside the engine and circulated- so guess what happened... THANK GOD i had the VOLVO VIP extended warranty!!!

Oh well....

I agree, Volvo USED to be a great, safe car. However, once the Ford Motor Company got their grubby, greedy mitts into the Volvo Company, Volvo has gone downhill FAST....not only in quality, but safety as well. I may be wrong about this, but I think they have their paws into Jaguar as well. Or at least that's what I was told, so I can't attest to the validity of that. Volvo....R.I.P.

My friend bought brand new Volvo S80, and in 2 years he had to replace the transmission twice... He said that there was a GM transmission installed there... Is it even possible to have a GM tranny in Volvo, but besides the point, Volvo quality and reputation has *severely* suffered. A few more years of Ford ownership, and this wonderful brand will be done... After all, it's much harder to win reputation that to lose it...

Now my 1989 740GL with 260K never had anything major replaced, and is still strong, starts half-crank, and tranny is nice and strong, although it has been giving a little "grinding" sound if I push the accelerator too hard in first gear... But I had that for over 9 years now, nothing happened in the last 100K miles, so I am not even worried about that grinding anymore... Timely oil changes, tune-ups, seal replacements, and most importantly - love and affection, I am sure will keep my Volvo alive for another 10 years.

General Motors Transmission

Yes, that is correct. ALL S80's (2.9/ T6) and XC90-T6 have a general motors "Hydr-O-Matic" transmission. It is a 4-Speed and cannot handle the tremendous torque produced by the linear 6-cylinder engines that Volvo produces. The whole product line is doomed beyond this point....
Oh well, i always felt that the Volvo was a great value for the money.... Staying with the Benz-

Oh, and while im on the topic of quality- I cant say i have had much trouble at all with my Benz collection, EVER-

Well, I guess we can all consider ourselves pretty darn lucky that FMC hasn't tried to takeover Mercedes yet!! Then again, who knows, maybe they have tried and Mercedes told them what they could do with their 'New Ideas'!!!!

Well, it looks like what I've been told is true, FMC does own Jaguar AND Land Rover!! I got this info from the Volvo site under 'acquisitions.' I tried to copy and paste the address but I screwed up somehow!! I just did a Google search for Volvo.
