W215 no start problem, what to check?
Hi, hope to find some help with this.... 2000 CL500 with 65,000 miles... One morning would crank over normally, but would not start....
In order this is what I have done, with no fix..: 1. Changed the fuel filter. 2. Changed the fuel pump. (with a "VDO" parts store did show the pump was a direct replacement) 3. Recharged battery... ( Not because of low charge, just in case ) 4. Pulled a "0110" error code... ( Temp. Circut malfunction)????? Wiring looks fine.. 5. Removed and "cleaned" the Mass sensor.... used alcohol. Let dry for 1 hour... placed mass sensor on air intake (no housing).... nothing... 6. I have checked fuses between each of the above...... 7. The car has a Brabus lowering module wich has been blinking 2 short, 3 long flashes?????? 8. Suspension looks okay. Although height switch has two leds lit and sport switch is also on..... .. If I was not getting spark, would I not get a error code? ... Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks |
CL500 fixed no start . Other issues have surfaced
I replaced the crankshaft position sensor,, now the cl500 starts....
.. But now the auto trunk closing and both windows (auto "final closing" is not working properly.... .. Also a ABC warning is on display ( suspension control ) ? .. Anyone have any ideas? .. Thanks for any suggestions |
Update CL500 no start
Hi,
Another update: Car does start and now runs fine. Mass error code caused by bad connection @ sensor. ( My error ) Trunk issue caused by low battery charge. ( recharged battery ) Brake error codes were removed by turning wheel completly left and right. ..... It is evident that whenever one does this type of repair a organized approach must be followed. ( I will try to remember ) ..... I am still working to get rid of the ABC trouble code. I have checked the fuses and switched the height & sport switches on and off numerous times. This I believe cycles the system. The car does have a Barbus lowering module. During the above problems, the module was removed and again hooked up. The ride height looks even and normal... Maybe I caused a problem when I jacked up the car to RR the fuel pump? ... Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks |
