For $1500, RENNTech will take it out for you.

You need to replace the computer chip which several companies make. Your stock chip should be set at 140 MPH.

Speed Limiter
Mark,
thanks for the info, but that leaves me with two questions: where exactly does that chip go, can it be done be myself, and who sells the chip? THANKS A LOT! |
You can try
http://www.renntechmercedes.com http://www.superchips.com some people on this forum have tried the Precision Auto Designs (PAD) chip as well. http://www.precisionauto.com Do a search for Chips...one of the threads have pictures of how to do it. Hope that helps... |
SPEED LIMITER
Rainmaker,
do you know where the chip goes? Also, which thread are you referring to? I did a search for chips and I couldn't come across any with pictures. Thanks for the help! Also, what is a reasonable price to pay? Is $1500 the cheapest? |
Actually,
His stock chip should be set at 130 mph. All US models have are limited to 130, with the exception of AMG models which are 155 mph. BTW Taimurakram, I'm curious where you live that you'd want to remove the rev limiter? Where can you drive this fast to actually want to remove the speed limiter...? Just curious. :) |
Speed Limiter
David,
to answer your question, I live right off Int 80. There are numerous places on that where my friend has driven his C32 at almost 145mph. The road is long and straight. My E class quits at 130! Where is the chip and can it be changed by myself? |
You're in for it now! i mentioned high speed driving on public roads and had the wrath of God sent down to crush me here. Just say you were kidding and you only drive on closed tracks or Montana. Tust me:)
