Distronic Question

When approaching a slower traveling vehicle does the distronic hold the brakes on continually? Does this not cause early pad and rotor replacement?

Thanks for your patience with a newbie to MB.... Dan

What Year what model??

IN most cases distronic brakes slightly & backs the throttle OFF until the pre-set distance is attained

When you approach slower traveling vehicle WITHOUT Distronic you may use your brakes to match speed, too. Don't assume Distronic is braking against same throttle opening--it will reduce throttle, too--just as any cruise control is capable of doing when user uses decel function.

Thanks for the replys, in answer to M.B.Doc, my car is a 2003 SL500. I was concerned that I was causing excessive pad and rotor wear when using the distronic. Per the replys received it appears to me this is not the case.

Again, thanks for the replys, I just bought the car and am enjoying the heck out of it.
