1981 380SL odometer stuck. Need advice.
How do I repair or replace the odometer. What all do I need to remove and how? Never did much work under the dash.

The Instrument cluster generally just pops right out - at least according to the DIY HOWTOs on this site. I almost ripped my dash covering pulling mine the first time, but it is easy to do for me now. It is just held in place by pressure/friction springs. It is easiest if you can reach up from below the dash and push it out from behind. Be aware that you need to make certain there is slack in your spedometer cable. Some connecting cables may also be tight to work with. It should be straightforward to remove the spedometer/odometer head unit once you have the cluster out. Here is my thread from last week about my odometer problem:
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=193584 These odometer units are very precisely built, so anything that is a little off may stop it from working. I had several rounds of in-and-out and around-the-block before I got mine working consistantly again.

Remove steering wheel?
In order to get the cluster out, it appears that the steering wheel has to come off. Atleast it would be much easier if it were off. How does it come off? Know any good links?
