'97 E420 Coolant Change problem

I have a Renntech E60RS based on a '97 E420, has a M119 motor.

Did a coolant flush/change yesterday. Manual says system holds 16 quarts. I added 8 & 1/2 quarts. Do I have to bleed the air out somehow? Did I measure the quantity of coolant removed? No.

Any thoughts?

About half the coolant stays inside the engine block. I guess you only drained the radiator but didn't drain the engine block.
