Marking Tool
I was reading up on taking the 4 cams off my 119 engine and it is very clear that the timing chain and cam sprockets need to be marked for reinstallation. What is the general preference on marking metal parts that may actually come into contact with other metal? When I was a kid, I was given an electrically powered metal scribe that vibrated and marked the metal. I'm afraid the normal awl won't be sharp enough or go deep enough to leave readily identifiable marks for reinstallation. Is there any paint that would stick to the parts.
