I filed a complaint with the nhtsa.gov for the faulty display readouts that many of us have/are experiencing. It IS A SAFETY problem since it you can't see which gear you are in and that could cause a driver error that could lead to an accident.
The more of us who complain the more likely they are to issue a recall and require the MBUSA to cover our this problem.

Call 1-888-327-4236 and have your VIN # ready so they can file the complaint. (Other Mercedes models have had this issue recalled and fixed)

Good idea...mine has begun to show those signs in recent months...
