Stalled engine at light and wouldn't re-start!
My 2003 CLK55 stalled at a light, so I look down at the dash and its lit red with "Visit Workshop" and would not start. After pushing out of the intersection and a flatbed ride home, it starts up, has the check engine light on, with nothing in the malfunction display screen. What's up with that?
Has anyone heard anything like this? It only has 43K miles on it, and feel disappointed. I love this car, but is this a sign of more trouble ahead? |

do a search on CPS = crank shaft position sensor. that might be the reason.
good luck in it and post back what you find. a trip to the dealer to get the code error would def be helpful though !

Let me get this straight.
Yor car stalls & will not restart and you're disappointed? If you're that paranoid about transportation, buy a bicycle. But then you'll probably be disappointed when you get a flat tire. ![]()

classic crankshaft position sensor problem even to the being able to restart when cooled off.i had one towed in the other day which restarted when it arrived.checking the codes revealed 5 faults with mass air flow meter,so i replaced it and sent it home, back 3 days later with original symptom so replaced crank sensor and havn't seen since.
