vacumn door locks inopt 89 300E

I know it has been discussed before, but please help me look in the right places to diagnose this problem.

The vacumn is not locking and unlocking the locks on the 1989 300E the driver door lock works manuallybut will not close the other locks with its vacuum. also I was told the fuel door would not open and lock so I was able to fine the emergency reease to open the fuel door.

Second problem. On start up ignition with key to run engine position the car ran like it was on two cylinders. I restarted the car again and it was fine. all the emergeny lights were on with the key in #1 position before crank. I have a complaint of stalling and the lower row of lights going after it stalls sometimes at a traffic light , before I have to restart the engine. could this be a OVP modual??? The car has 130,000 miles the fuel pumps were changed last year and the distributor cap and rotor. spark plugs are stock and new wires look ok.
Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated. Just let me know were to look for this information Please!!!!
Sincerely
Bob Geco

I can help you with this problem. You need to check the air-pump to see weither it's function or not when you lock/unlock doors. It's located on the back trunk near the spare.

Bob, you've probably figured out by now that the vacuum pump is under the rear seat (on the W124) rather than in the spare tire well (for W126). Does your door interlock work from any other location than the driver's door (right front door or trunk)? Have you chk'd the fuse ('C', 16A)? If the fuse is burned, maybe the vac pump is defective. Good luck.
