140 Evaporator DIY
Anyone interested in a [very] lenghty how-to pictorial of the 140 evaporator replacement ? Probably 130 pages +
Most 140s have already had this done. I would think there would be little, if any, interest. Espescially for DIY's |

Sure
Salty,
I don't need it (yet), but I'd be interested just to see how the dash comes apart. All those hidden connectors are hell to find. Let me know if you can email or post a link somewhere. Chuck |

Well, that's what I thought - no interest. I think 140s now fall into 4 categories:
1) The evap has already been replaced and the owner gives car due attention 2) The evap is inop, and the car is being sold on Ebay for retail as "Perfect Luxury Ride - Transmission Shifts Strong" 3) The car is in the junkyard (a lot of 119s fall into this category and almost ALL 120s) 4) Owner puts $7k ghetto wheels, ruins suspension, drives with windows down. About 6 months later falls into category #3 - usually after police chase has aired on Fox news. No, I'm not going to go to the trouble to publish the document on the procedure. It's 4x longer and more involved than 119 motor teardown. Besides, a few websites copied some of my old DIYs in their entirety to their own site, I was told "tough". Book publishers reniged on book deal, citing "too much existing internet distribution". If I get a chance, I'll be more than happy to answer any questions. Hopefully you're a #1 |
