I am trouble shooting a problem with my '85 190e that is running really rough and has no power. After doing some reading in the forum I decided to check the OVP and there is none there. What systems does the OVP control? How the hell did it run so good without it before?
Thanks Dan |

On a 85 190 it probably only powers the ABS and the KE controller.
It does well without one because the fuel system only uses electronic control for correction of fuel mixture. It can be adjusted rich to overide lambda and have enough fuel mixture to handle acceleration and warm-up. Of course you will use at least 25% more fuel, probably closer to 50%. You also would flunk any serious emissions test and probably burn out your catalytic convertor within a year maybe a lot less a high speed.

When it was running ok I did notice that it was using more fuel than I expected. Were can I get an OVP? I looked in fastlane and schucks.com.
Thanks for the help! Dan |
