88 300E Front End Crash, Won't Turn Over
My son rear ended a car and tok out the front end above the bumper. Air bag did not deploy. Pushed radiators into the fan. Have all parts removed but when turn key-nothing. All lights and electrical work. Is there some type of shutoff switch the kills engine in front end collissions? Need help on what it may be. Don't want to buy any parts till I get engine going. Is rebuildable if engine is still good.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |
My daughter did the same thing to our 91 300E a couple of weeks ago. I took the fan off and the engine starts.
Those cars are only worth $3 - 5K so it is tough to justify to repair them. In my case, I need a hood, left fender, radiator, grill, an clutch, fan, headlight assemblies, radiator support, etc. Unless someone can find another one as a donor for parts, it would cost too much. |
