CL500 Sticky steeering wheel buttons

Hello,

just got my "new" (new for me...) '02 CL500. It's a beatiful silver on black car. I got it from Mercedes, so it comes with 2 years factory warranty left on it.

I noticed the steering wheel buttons and glove compartment buttons are almost as if the clear paint is dissolving on them. (Not a functional problem, only estethics)

Is this covered by warranty?
If not what is involved getting these replaced? That just makes the whole car look old.

Thanks,
Sab.

It should be covered. If not you will (or someone will) have to removed the airbag to get to the steering wheel buttons to replace them. Same with the glove box button remove & replace. I recall a 99 S430 with the same problem years ago.
