Brake fluid flush on 2000 E430

Hello all, my first post here, but have been reading for some time. Great place for highly technical information.

I've installed AMG brakes on my 2000 model E430, and now want to completely replace all of the old fluid with ATE Super Blue. I've done a search but haven't found a definitive answer on exactly how to do it. I'm worried about not getting the old fluid out of the ABS system and other components. Do I need to buy/borrow a scanner tool to activate the high pressure system? Can some of the pins be jumped? I'm just lost.

Any help is appreciated much.

Thanks.

Eventhough this thread is very long, it does have some good info.

You probably will want a motive brake bleeder
access to 4 jack stands and a jack
wrenches for the bleeder screws.

What does your master cylinder reservoir look like? If it has little black caps, get new ones before bleeding.

also go to www.mbwholesaleparts.com

click on the tab for StarTunes magazine

agree to the conditions

browse the archive under BRAKE systems

and read the September 2004 article.

you won't need to connect any scanners or jump circuits.

If you don't rush the job, and collect all the tools, rags, hoses and emergency water before you begin it is a fun job.

whatever method you use to pressurize the system be aware and make sure your source (car tire for instance) is at that proper pressure (15psi for car tire for instance).
