560sl shifter illumination
 

I know that its a single bulb that has to be replaced and that you must 1st remove the ash tray to then remove the console. I've seen some posts on how to remove ash tray and center console but it still isn't clear to me. Can anyone provide pictures or a better explanation of how I can replace the bulb?

Steve the easiest way is to trace the wire. The bulb is upside downand inserts into the shifter by pushing it up towards the roof of the vehicle.
