W220 Door squeaking noise
All my doors are having some sort of squeaking noise. I tried putting 3M "DRY" lubicant on the door trim rubber but does not seem to help much.
Do I need to replace all the door trims? If so, which I need to replace? The ruuber on the door or the "cloth wrapped" one attached the car body? Many thanks. Michael |
Go over the rubber seals with pure rubbing alcohol on a cloth. Sometimes waxes can build up on the rubber and create a squeaking noise. You want to get all that off so just the rubber is contacting the metal.
This was a chronic problem with the triple-seal doors on my BMW E39 M5 -- it annoyed me so much I'd often drop the car at the dealer for the day and force them to do it while I took a loaner. I don't miss it a bloody bit! Cheers, John |
Thanks John.
