Reset after oil change 97 C230

I try to change oil on my 97 c230. Do I have to reset the computer? I search the forum and could not find anything about reset for 97. Some one told me that I have to but there is nothing mentioned in the owner manual.
Could some one please help. Thanks in advance.....

Yes you should reset the service reminder.
A search on " reset fss " ( flexible service schedule ) would have produced lots of results.

I looked through the owner's manual few times and could not find anything about FSS. I do not see any symbols of a wrench of any kind. Is 97 C230's is part of the FSS system? I am lost.......

Should be in your owners manual; or follow the instructions in the link Manny provided.

Usually takes a couple of tries.

FSS in '97? Non, non --

I think there was no Flexible Service System on the '97 C-Class -- that it wasn't in those cars until '98 (at least in the US -- are you in Europe?). There certainly wasn't any in my C230 with the normally-aspirated engine, and no mention of it in the owner's manual or in the dealer's literature. I changed my oil 3-4 times a year for 3 years without having to reset anything.

Unless MB put that system in some C-Classes as an option, I doubt yours has it! You can change the oil without worrying about that.

I am in Alberta Canada

Try member Blackmercedes

Canada? Then Blackmercedes might be able to help. He's in Canada, though his C230 was/is a '98, I *think*.

In any case, I was pleased to find out my car didn't have FSS when I bought it, since to take full advantage of FSS, you need to use synthetic oil. (Of course you can always use dino and change sooner than FSS recommends.)
