Still steaming hot in Fla.
Hello all:
I have a 96 E300 that was running very hot, around 110. I brought the car in and had the thermostat, water pump and radiator replace. It is still running hot. I brought the car back to the mechanic whom told me that there may be engine damage that is making it run hot and had no other recommendations for me other than changing the head gasket. The car does cool down while driving. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I may be able to cool this car down. The car's AC is not working the hotter the car gets. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Matt |
Matt- Post this in the tech side you'll get plenty of responses.

Does the coolant dissappear? Maybe your sending unit is wrong (the one that measures the coolant temp.) Are your fans engaging?

The coolant is not disapearing and the fans are coming on.
thanks. Matt |
