03 s430 air filter replacement - need tips
 

I'm planning to replace both filters with K&N as soon as I get them. Can someone give some tips or point me to a post that would be helpful. I did search and did not find anything. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Best tip the forum can give you is to throw them away before installing and contaminating your MAF. To fix it you'll have to replace it AND the air filters.

The MAF runs a couple of hundred $ usually.

Search K & N, MAF, MAS, AMM and ruined or fried.

Thanks for the insights about K&N filter. I guess I'll have to return them as soon as I get them. I will use a better quality paper filter like Wix or AC Delco. Besides the type of filter, do you have any tips as to how to open up the housing to get to the filter. Anything I have to lookout for.

I dont know your engine as it's not a diesel....;)

Looks like it is held on with a couple of screws (#77).
