TODAY I THINK I FOUND A GREAT DEAL ....YOU TELL ME ..ITS A 88 300E BODY IS GREAT IT RUNS VERY GOOD IT HAS 98000 MILES THE CAR IS IN OVER ALL VERY GOOD COND BUT NEEDS TO HAVE THE POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED ...IS THIS VERY COSTLY...I CAN BUY THE CAR FOR $3500...IS THIS A GOOD DEAL....WHAT DO YOU THINK.:D:D:D:D

Without seeing the car it is difficult to offer advice, but the price certainly warrants investigation.

The problem is that these cars do not have a rack and pinion steering system, they have a recirculating ball steering box.

If the steering box is the problem, I would suggest a used box from one of the dismantlers.
