Tight spark plugs

OK, I changed four plugs on my new 1987 560 SEC. I started on the passenger side. I had to wrench them all the way out, they were a bit tight. When I got to the the other bank, I started on the first one, loosened it from the seat and it got real tight, could not back it out. Didn't want to break it so ran it back in and quit.

Talked to a friend of mine, a good indy, and he told me to just take it out. So, do I use a long breaker bar to back them out or what? I do have a thread chaser to use after they are out. Is this the best way to go?

BTY, what is the firing order?

Thanks
Reed

Was the engine cold, warm or hot when you did this?

spray some penetrating oil in around the base and work it back in and out a few times. It will probably get easier.

You won't break the plug but in worse case you might bring along the aluminum threads, but you can heli coil them and not much will be lost.

As he said it needs to come out sooner or later anyway.

The engine was cold. Yea, they need to come out eventually. I will try it hot after I try the penetrating oil. The threads seems OK, no loose metal on the plugs that I took out, probably just crud.
