1997-E320 Hesitation and Backfires

Hello,
I have some issues on 1997-E320. When I start the car in the morning doesn't take acceleration & backfires a lot.
I have to accelerate very slowly at low RPM or the car would hesitate and backfires.
I did change new spark plugs and spark plug wires,Transmission fluid was replaced with new oil filter (sometime in high speed does not respond fast hesitate ).
But still same issues, the engine light does not came on and the car has 156K miles.
I just got the car,no any records in the car.

What can be AMM??? OR ???

If is AMM is there any way to test it ???

Any good thread about AMM ???:book:

Thanks Guys.:)

Do a search, as your identical symptoms have been discussed before. Most likely cause is AMM. You can try cleaning it and/or replacing it.

yes yes, CLEAN it first. However, if it's original, it's probably toast. $300ish to replace from Phil. Try a can of CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor CLeaner, $5 from autozone, etc

I cleaned mine and it worked great for about a week before acting up. I cleaned it again with no improvement. Same flat spot, would hesitate and stall unless I accelerated either very slowly or very aggressively. I keep the old one in the trunk as a backup in case of total failure - it may not work great, but it does still work.

<<I did change new spark plugs >>

Did you use Plats ??????????

hayomoric 09-24-2007 01:01 PM

I did not use Platinum plugs don't like them,I used regular Bosch plugs.
I tried to clean AMM like the guy said but it worked for a week or so and again same problems.
What you guys think about AMM from Germanstar.net they are selling for $129.00?
Is this is a waste of money or better to go for original Bosch or Mbz Parts?
Thanks.

They have to be F8DC4 for 104 engine. NON- resistor
