Should I purchase a used 2001 C320?

I was thinking about purchasing a used 2001 C320. The car is listed as follows:

*) 1 owner, clean CarFax
*) 74K miles (less than average)
*) Clean interior/exterior...midnight blue/tan
*) Ask price @ 12K USD

?) What type of mileage can I expect from a C320 as long as its taken care fo correctly?
?) Is this car up for major maintenance at this mileage?
?) How reliable are these cars?
?) Anything else I should look for or ask about?

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions...

I'd recommend passing, I have a 2002 c-class that I purchased new and I like very much. But it isn't unusual for owners to have a car with a myriad of issues. It's the cost of repairs, parts and labor, that worry me.
2001 was the first year in the U.S. for the c- class and I've heard people say it's not till 2005 ( or was it 2003? ) that the cars were dialed in.

Personally I hate C class. They are too small.

Size really is a personal issue.

Now, a golden rule is NEVER to buy a Mercedes on its first year and possibly second year of production, as stated before.

The real problem is that this C-class was plagued with many issues up until 2005, when almost everything began to corrected.

Many independent techs here now swear on the 2006/7 C-class, which they say is almost trouble free.

Wow! Used cars are cheap in the US. A car like that in my country will cost about $40K - $45K USD. Don't dream about doing great business. Importing used car is forbiden by law here....

Jeeze, I think a C320 might have been somewhere around 40-45K USD brand new here, lol.
