Little vacuum dohicky (pot) going into trunk?
 

I was looking at my favorite mercedes porno, the underside of my 1990 300 sel, and found this funny looking vacuum pot going into the trunk from looks like a pot with a yellow 90 degree fitting what is it and could be my vacuum problem with the autolock system? It does have a spot that looks like it is leaking a little.

It sounds like the line to the vaccum element that locks/unlocks to trunk lid, which is part of the locking system. One leak in any part of this system will cause the entire system to funtion like a slug or not at all.
