98 S500 Blower Motor help?
Hey guys the A/C is not blowing in my car and was told by the dealer ( about 4 months ago ) when it did the same thing that the blower motor was bad. They lubed it and it worked for another 4 months. Now I am just not sure if I need the new blower motor and the regulator ? Any ideas? They said it was the blower motor but I will be doing this repair myself. Thanks

I would suggest taking the cover off the plenum,(oblong cover with two hoses and six screws at the base of drivers side windshield) there is also a sensor that twists out. Below that the air filter, and below that the blower and regulator mounted on the blower.
They both can go bad, if the fan spins it is probably the regulator, if it does not spin freely there is probably corrosion on the bearing/shaft. The regulator sits in the ground side of the motor the other side is hot. You can get the motor and regulator on Fast Lane right here, and ther is a DYI Article |

Blower Motor Lubrication
I've heard that the blower motor should be lubricated with electrical motor oil. How and where should this specifically be done. I understand the filter is first removed for access ...then what? Does the blower motor have to be removed? Again I'm looking for specific lubrication points. Thanks

They are pretty easy to change. I would pull it out and oil it again, the best thing though would be to change it out and get rid of the charcoal filter, it traps moisture and causes the motor to go bad prematurely.
