What will happen if I manually activated the 9th injector while driving on 560SEL 89?
It looks crazy but I wanted to ask experts as it might hurt the engine. I want my Euro 560SEL 1989 (full options) to be a bullet. People here in Kuwait advised me to replace the catalytic converter with regular pipes and get rid of the O2 sensor but I won't do that. I'm just thinking what will it be a bullet if I manually activated the 9th injector (the cold start valve) while accelerating on 560SEL 1989?
I feel its performance is less that my old 560SEC 1989. I've done almost everything except changing the two fuel pumps. |
Sounds good in theory.....

Sounds like a good way to foul your plugs, and if anything will make your car very slow.
You can't add fuel without adding air. |
removing exhaust restrictions (cats) will do more to improve performance than tinkering with the fuel mixture. You might try Nitrous Oxide injection or a supercharger too, but that might just blow the engine up. As another poster pointed out, fuel and air have to mix in the proper proportions to burn best...adding more fuel will not result in more power unless it is mixed with more air.

You need to sell it and buy one done up by AMG. Something with the 6.0L quad cam V8 should do it. You need a "Hammer":D

Firing off the cold start injector will not only make things overly rich it will do so in an uneven fashion which is Very risky @ full load.
Pulling the O2 will lower your fuel mileage and do nothing for performance. Idle will be OK, but not as good. Pulling the cats will have no effect on idle. I hear the UAE is chock full of AMG 560's. Jonathan |
Personally I hate S class. They are too big.

Oh come on with all that oil money, that country must be chock full of AMG's and pricey cars. |

I would never drive any car but the S class or Volvo. |

Here is a good solution, drive something nice and slow for a few weeks. Than the 560 will feel much faster!:D |

Well that is your mistake right there! You need to get a very old diesel MB to correct this.:D
|
clean the fuel and electrical system, a good general tune up might be good, and when you say the power is not enough, how many horse power are you currently getting?
