1999 E430 Battery Charging indicator?
 

After starting up the car, the battery charging indicator appears and the steering wheel is complete locked. I've looked in the owner manuel and it say "indicate that the Poly v-belt has broken" How difficult of a job would this be if it is broken?

If the belt was broken you would have GREAT difficulty turning the steering wheel.

Possibly a voltage regulator or alternator failure.

Lucky it wasnt broken a squirle some how got into my engine compartment and got killed by the belt. This is what caused the poly v belt to come loose. I just bought a new belt and ended up doing the job myself since I did something similar to this with my old Bmw.
