differential oil
The sheet in the owner's manual of the 95 E320 calls for 90 weight or 85W90 in the differential. Does anyone see a problem using 80W90? Or Amsoil the 75W90 that I won at a Brit car meet? I have a gallon of the Amsoil and 1/2 gal of the 85W90 and and nowhere to go with it. But if it will cause problems I'll look for a straight 90 wt. It is hard to find at the McParts stores. All I am seeing is 80W90 and 85W140 synth.
Thanks! |
I would not hesitate to use what you have.

I would use what you have, they are both good diff oils and they are so close to the recommended that it will not know the diff ( no pun intended)
If it was an older LSD diff I might be hesitant or at least ad limited slip diff additive, but in your case I highly doubt there will be any diff in the oil you have and the recommended |
I have been using 75w90 Mobil 1 in my SDL since I got it four years ago. I'd use the Amsoil thats really good stuff.

Thanks guys!
Now I have no reason not to get under there and do it!
