Starter Cranks Engine, But It Will Not Start

Her is the vital statistics.

1992 190e 2.3
here what I have checked..

cam position sensor

where the hell is the TDC sensor and what should it be reading?

Ignition control module

I have got spark and what appears to be timing

the Ignition coil is reading to specifications

The EHA is reading to specification

I have in excess of 100psi of fuel pressure pre- regulator

the command control module appears to be working given what little reading I could make with the limited equipment

spark plugs and wires and cap and rotor all read good

Engine pressure is above 150lbs per cylinder

the timing chain is still on and in place and tight

I have check all 21 sensor wires for shorts and have found some bad insulation but no shorts.

WHAT THE HELL AM I MISSING

AND WHY WON'T THIS BAD BOY START........I NEED IDEAS BADLY PLEASE SEND ANY QUESTIONS OR ADVICE

Is the fuel pump running when you crank the engine?

What do the plugs look like after you have tried to start?

Is this a CIS engine, with a fuel distributor?

sanity now

yes it appears that the fuel pump is running when I crank the engine

the plugs are new and the gap is correct, the plugs look very wet with fuel

yes this is a cis engine, with a fuel distributor..... it appears to me that the cylinders are drowning in fuel.....

that why I thought that it my be the fuel pressure regulator stuck in the full on position...... my brother informed me that bosh had lots of issues...in regards to fuel pressure regulators

I would check and re-check all of your vacuum hoses, especially the ones going to and from the Idle Control Valve, as well as the other ends. Also, you might want to remove the Idle Control Valve to see if it is clean inside and partially open when no voltage is applied so air can pass through it. If it looks dirty, clean it with some carb. cleaner. You can test it to see if it operates by touching a 9v battery to the contacts.

Go over everything and report back to us.
