What is an impact strip for the front bumper:
 

My son hit something in his 1990 190E and broke the plastic off of his front bumper. We are being told to buy and impact strip from one place and the other place says we need the bumper cover. Does anyone know what we need? And maybe where we can find it????
We live in a small town in Utah, and can't find anyone that knows much about Mercedes Benz.

I have been given different names from

1) Bumper Pad
2) Bumper impact strip

And more...

Typically it is called the impact strip which is the smaller one protruding on the outside of the bumper proper. Mine cracked when it hit the wall....

It needs to be ordered and repaint.
