Brake Issues on my 190E
 

My 1988 190E 4cyl Brake light came on last week and rear brakes locked up. I replaced both rear calipers and brake pedal was really spongy. Over the weekend I replaced booster and master cylinder and both rear brake lines. There is plenty of pressure at master cylinder and front wheels and no pressure at rear calipers. I bled brake all around four times and no rear brakes. Anyone has any idea what I should do next? I had a mechanic help bleed the brakes and master cylinder and he's baffled too

If your rears locked up that would make me think there was a problem with the fronts originally.

If the pedal is still spongy you may be bleeding wrongly .... the proper proceedure is to bleed the furthest from the mc first....but first make sure you have fluid in the mc res... then pump up the brakes until you begin to get some pedal, then open the bleeder while your partner pushes the pedal down, then shut the bleeder and let the pedal up and do again. Repeat until no bubbles come out of the bleeder.
then go to the left rear and then right front and finally lf.

Of course if you are in England do the other side first.

Brakes were bled correctly. Rear to front in order you gave. Could a valve or something block fluid to rear??

Are you sure that there is enough fluid in the rear compartment of the fluid resivoir? Many a brake job has been fouled up due to the brake fluid res having two sections. The rear portion only gets fluid when the front is almost completely full, only then will fluid run over the lip and into the back section. It is easy to over look and not notice. Also, hard to see that the rear is empty. Good luck

Could the ABS be doing something funny?

I'll check the brake fluid level front and rear of resivoir. Does not have ABS Any other suggestions? I'll try anything
