Fuel shut off during coasting?
Some modern fuel-injected cars now have a feature that shuts off fuel flow during coasting as a way to conserve fuel. On our 02 Volvo S40, per owner's manual, the fuel shuts off when the car is in drive, throttle at idle position, and rpm is above 1200 rpm. Do MB vehicles have this feature?... does mine? I haven't seen it listed in the owner's manual.

The MBs with the 103s and CIS fuel injection do that. I suppose the others probably do.
On the CIS cars it's called deceleration shut off. The EHA is able to shut down the flow of fuel entirely. Generally goes back to normal as the RPM falls thru 1000. |

Nothing New to Benz..they started using decel lean stop solinoids on their Mechanical FI systems starting in 1968/USA versions . Early emissions design. Cut coasting fuel in 3rd and 4th gear. |
