92 190 e crank angle sensor

Hello:

The 2.6 has two sensors. I am guessing one or both is the cause of intermittent stalling -like a shut off of ignition, usually at idle in traffic-never at rpm above 1k.

Is their a resistance check or other method on determining which one to replace?

Thanks in advance!

mb engines use only 1 sensor mounted at the flywheel.

Measure resistance to check.

ohm setting

yes you pull the crank position sensor off you ignition control module, measure from the line to your sensor the ohm reading should be 680-1200 ohms resistance.....ignition is in the off position
then change your VOM to volts and measure the same line it should read greater than or equal too one volt...ignition is in the start position

then check the insulation of the sensor from positive to a neutral ground, like the engine, it should read greater than or equal to 200kohm

if your reading are less then either one of these measurements replace you sensor
