190e Headlight Out
The passenger side headlight on my '92 190e burnt out last week. The high beam worked fine. I replaced the bulb, but the low beam is still out. I checked the original bulb and one filament was definitely broken, so I know the bulb was a problem. But, I guess there's something else as well.
I changed the fuse and swapped bulbs from the driver's side with the same results. The new bulb works on the other side. The high-beam still works fine with either bulb. So, it's got to be the wiring or socket? It just seems strange that the bulb would go the same time something else happened, unless that something else caused the bulb to burn out. Anyone have any ideas where to start checking? |
At the fuse..IF the fuse gets power when that side low beam is selected then either the wiring from the fuse to the light OR the wiring between the harness inside the headlight is to blame.
DID you look closely at the plug on the bulb?? some times they melt. |
from my experience it's prob bad plug where it goes to bulb.napa sells a pigtail [plug plus wiring] for the 9004 bulb for about $10.pull the plug off the bulb and look at the female pins you will see the plastic bubbling.
