Is it a must to replace brake pads while changing brake rotors?

Not a "must", but don't know why you wouldn't while you are in there. I would assume, that the rotors and pads have the same miles on them.

I agree. Usually I would but if I happened to have newish pads I would not hesitate to use them.

Pads dont cost that much more so replace them. Its your chance to get some pads that dont dust up quite as badly as the oe pads.........

but oe's like textar don't squeak.. I the dust..but I dislike the squeak even more

However, if you are replacing severely warped rotors or ones with an uneven surface pattern, it has probably translated the same wear patterns on the pads. I would replace under those conditions. Seems like a waste to NOT do pads considering the effort required to remove the calipers and rotors. |
