W124 Steering Wheel
I am looking for a replacement for my 400e. The leather on my wheel has seen almost 200k miles and has worn through. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement, preferably with the wood inserts at the top and bottom of the wheel? Any pics?

You are going to pay a serious premium for the wood accented wheel new. I wish you luck, Try www.************************ I think they have them for about $600.

You can buy leather hide and sew it on yourself. Use a baseball stitch. A curved needle works best. They are called cadaver needles. People that stuff animals use them. If it's a little loose, make it wet. It'll shrink in-place. Look it up: Steering wheels for boats.

I have used the "Wheelskins" leather lace-on type steering wheel cover on two MB 124's so far with excellent results. The pricing from Performance Products was as good as I could find on the net. They offer them in solid colors as well as two-tone.
