Rpm=mph ????

New to the forum.

I recently purchased a 1988 300E from the US and imported it to Canada. Some of the guages where not working so I changed the instrument cluster for one in KM and the speed reading does not seem correct. Can anyone give me the RPM/MPH at 2500/3000/3500 RPMs? I can do the conversion.

Great forum used it before I purchased.

Use a hand held GPS to determine speed.

300E should have a 3.07 rear end ratio

gear / ratio / mph per 1000rpm
1 / 3.68 /6.3
2 / 2.44 / 9.7
3 / 1.44 /16.2
4 /1.00 / 23.3

2360 RPM in fourth gear would equate to 55MPH

If you have stock tires [ 195/65/15] and proper PSI, you should see 60 MPH @2500RPM....+/- 1 MPH
