E320 wagon ASR light

On my recently purchased wagon the ASR light came on.
Whenever I start the car the ABS/ASR pump starts making noise in sequences of three or 4 second then it stops and the ASR light comes on. Until the next time the engine starts there are no other problems, then the cycle repeats.
Please help.

IF only the ASR lamp is coming on??? then the problem is related to the electronic accelerator & not the traction system. Codes can be read from that EA/CC/ISC system to help with the diagnosis.

I am surprised because the ABS and Cruise Control works. Also the throtle body was recently rebuild. Any other clues you may have?

The EA computer can store up to 50 different codes.......what are those codes?

Does anybody know a good MB shop in New York area that can read those codes.

You'd be the best person to read the codes. Try a search.

I did build the tester from Arthur Dalton but i do not have a list of codes for my 94 E320 nor a clear procedure how to use it. What pins should I plug in and what not. I have read through hundreds of posts but I could not find a clear procedure yet. Can someone direct me to the proper post?

Problem solved. It was the brake light switch.
Thanks very much guys.
