m103 stalling at idle. hard to start afterwards...
so, i havent driven the 2.6 since friday, 3 day weekend and pretty much just slept it all away..and watched south park..anyway
started up fine and everything, like it usually does but soon as I got to the second red light the rpms dropped below 500 and the engine stalled out completely. So I hopped it into P and started it back up..and drove making sure not to let the idle drop to 500, so that meant popping it in Neutral at every stop light, using two feet and keeping the rev up. Let me tell you was not fun.. So I got to the end of the freeway (another red light) (btw: the car performed great on the highway engine wasn't at all bothered by anything, acceleration was there..everything) but I got to the red light and it stalled out, so I hopped it back into P and tried to crank it over...yeah I was cranking there for a good 2-3 minutes before it kicked. It wanted to a few times but just fell on is face.. A brief search on here hints at a vacuum issue / ovp / idle control stuff...My first suspicious (always the biggest and worst item) was the head, but after the highway drive i dont think that its the head. So I am gonna magically limp it up to the shop today and see whats up...I've heard that if you pull the OVP that the engine will revert to mechanical injection? Maybe I'll do that? Not sure maybe that was just on the KE Jetronic stuff not the CIS-E. -Kris
