growning noise

I have a 83 SD and I'm getting a noise from the passenger side (front) when I turn the steering wheel to the righ (only) Can any one help and tell me what that could be or what to check for. Thanks in andvance.

Do a search on "groaning" and you model #. You will probably find it is the ball joint but I don't know for sure.

Did a search...plenty of people had asked but no one could answer for sure..... Repairs were done (ie.ball joints,idler arm,steering stablizer) but the sound remained...any thoughts??

One test I have seen people mention is if you suspect a certain part like the ball joint, spray it with WD-40 and see if the noise goes away for awhile (you have to get it under the boot of course). Do the parts one at a time so you will know which it was.
